Tulsa, OK | May15, 2020: After mother nature forced the Spring Fling to a Saturday, Sunday showing, a total of 165 entries signed in for competition at Port City Raceway. Fans were in for an action packed night as the track was in great shape for the return of racing.

In Jr. sprint competition 15 drivers signed in for night one of the Spring Fling. The A-feature Mckentzi Potter would lead the field to green and lead several laps before reigning champion Brody McClelland would take over the lead point and eventually win the nights 15 lap feature. Mekentzi Potter, Carter Sauer, Ayden Parrish, & Sawyer Beers would round out the top 5.

Brody McClelland, Masyn Truitt, and Carter Sauer topped heat race action.

In the Masters class 9 driver signed in for competition. Rob Lamb and Harlan Hulsey would lead the field to green for the nights 20 lap A-feature with Hulsey jumping out to the earl lead. Nice and smooth around the bottom Hulsey would lead the majority of the feature but in the closing laps Thad Bennett would work the top methodically to take over the lead point when it mattered the most winning the evenings Masters feature. Harlan Hulsey, Rob Lamb, Tim Greene and Ruben Morris would round out the top 5.

Bennett would not only win the nights feature, he also won the nights single feature as well as capturing Hard Charger Honors.

The A-Class division had 38 entries signed in for night one of the Spring Fling. Shane Weeks and Cole Roberts would lead the field to green with Roberts getting the lead early. It wouldn’t take long for Frank Flud to come into the picture challenging Roberts for the lead. The 2 would exchange the top spot for a few laps before Flud would eventually claim the nights feature event. Shawn Mahaffey, Brady Bacon, Cole Roberts, and Chris Andrews would round out the top 5 with Brady Bacon and Blake Battles sharing the nights Hard Charger title as both drivers respectfully advanced 13 spots in the event.

Kris Carroll, Scot Sawyer, Frank Flud, Cole Roberts and Shawn Mahaffey would claim heat race wins, while Chris Andrews, and Brady Bacon each topped B-feature races.

The Restrictor class had 19 entries for night one of the Spring Fling. Kayden Cole and Joshua Gentry led the field to green with Cole claiming the top spot. While Cole worked the bottom of the race track nice and smooth Gentry would work the top side trying all he could to gain the needed momentum to challenge for the lead. Coming close on several occasions, Cole was able to hold off gentry to win the nights 20 laps main event. Gentry would claim the runner up spot with Brody Mclaughin, Garrett Benson and Caden McCreary rounding out the top 5. Rookie of the year contender Kaley Mahaffey would claim the nights hard charger title advancing 9 spots with a 10th place finish.
Kaden Smith, Garrett Benson and Joshua Gentry would each claim heat race wins.

In Non-wing competition Connor lee would best the field of 43 drivers. Starting outside pole Lee would jump out to the early lead and despite several attempts from numerous drivers Lee would go onto lead all 25 laps of the nights A feature. Ryan Timms, Kale Drake, Caleb Pence and Brady Bacon would round out the top 5, and the nights Hard Charger would be Kris Carroll advancing 13 spots to finish 7th.

Nigel Calvert, Caleb Pence, Ryan Timms, Shawn Mahaffey, and Grady Mercer topped heat races, with Brock Berreth and Avery Goodman capturing the nights B features.

Moving along to Sportsman which had 19 drivers contending for a Spring Fling prelim win. Drew Sawyer and Jeff Harris would bring the filed to green with Sawyer claiming the top spot early. With few caution Sawyer was able to take the TwoNine Sawyer Chassis to victory lane with Harris, Justin Simpson, Tyler LaPointe and Troy Minton rounding out the top 5. Dave Nicholson would take the nights Hard Charger note advancing 7 positions to finish 6th.

Larry Martinez, Bobby McIntosh, and Ryan Cody would claim heat race wins

The final class of the night would see 25 Outlaws signed in for competition. In the nights A-Feature Delaney Jost and Baron Silva would lead the field to green with Jost taking a commanding lead early. As laps clicked off Scott Sawyer, Brady Bacon and Ryan Timms would all go to work on trying to catch Jost. Timms would grab the lead late in the nights 25 lap feature event. A hard charging Chris Andrews would advance 13 positions to claim the Runner up spot with Jost, Sawyer, and KJ Snow rounding out the top 5.

Scott Sawyer, Baron Silva and Delany Jost would all be victorious in heat race action.
